Art fair at Nachalat Binyamin St. and the Carmel Market

Nachalat Binyamin St is a popular pedestrian mall with all-day art fairs every Tuesday and Friday. It is the oldest and largest art fair in Israel. It is adjacent to the Carmel Market, the largest market in Tel Aviv.

Over 200 vendors display a variety of handcrafts, including Judaica, jewelry, toys and ceramics. All the vendors are regular displayers, are the artists themselves and not salespeople, and have been approved by a committee - so you can rely on what you are buying. There may also be street artists, especially on a Friday afternoon. A visit on other days is not a waste of time. There are textile stores especially and restaurants, and you are very close to Carmel Market.

The top of Nachalat Binyamin Street is at the junction of Allenby Street, King George St and Sheinkin St.  Put in “Nachalat Binyamin Market” into Google Maps or “Nachalat Binyamin Art Fair” into Moovit.  If you are coming by car, two close parking lots are חניון מדרחוב נחלת בנימן

at 46 HaTavor St and חניון גרוזנברג סנטרל פארק at Gruzenberg St 16. For more central parking there is parking at Dizengoff Center.

The Carmel Market or Shuk HaCarmel on HaCarmel St. is the largest market in Tel Aviv. It is a busy place open from early in the morning until 7.00 p.m. on Sunday to Thursday. It closes early on Friday and is closed on Shabbat. Much is offered, including colorful produce, spices, clothes, footwear, and electronics. There are also fast-food type restaurants, many of them kosher. For those keeping kosher, it is advisable to ask fruit and vegetable vendors if they obtain their produce from the Rabbinate, in which case Jewish agricultural laws are taken care of. Much of the market is shaded. There are restrooms on Daniel St, a right turn-off at the end of the market.
